Online Check-In

About Online Check-In

With Online Check-In, you can put your name on the salon waitlist from anywhere—meaning the time you might spend in the lobby can be spent at home or running errands. Online Check-In shows you real-time estimated wait times so you can make getting a haircut work for your schedule. You can check in online on greatclips.com or with the Great Clips® app. When you check in online, you have the option to receive a ReadyNext® text alert when your estimated wait time reaches 15 minutes.

You can check in online five minutes after the salon is scheduled to open and throughout the day, until 30 minutes before closing time. Online Check-In is not available the first five minutes after the salon opens to allow customers who are physically at the salon time to be checked in and have their names added to the waitlist.

When you're on the waitlist, chances are you'll be next or almost next in line when you arrive. Please note that if you request a specific stylist upon arriving at the salon, your wait time may be longer.

Online Check-In can be used for all services except perms and formal updos. Please note that not all salons offer perms. Most salons require an appointment for these services, so please call the salon to inquire.

No. For the stylist’s safety, we do not publish their schedules or allow customers to request them using Online Check-In. We do keep Clip Notes®, which tracks details about any previous haircut you received at a Great Clips salon, so any stylist can give you a great haircut. If you would like to request a particular stylist, be sure to say that when you arrive at the salon and complete your check-in. Requesting a stylist may increase your estimated wait time.

You can check in from any device that has internet (tablet, computer, etc.). Go to greatclips.com and click on Find a Salon or Check In. Enter your zip/postal code or city and you'll be using Online Check-In in no time! If you don't have an Internet connection, you can always walk right into any salon and add your name to the list.

Using Online Check-In

On your smartphone, use our Great Clips app, which is available for iPhone and Android devices. On your computer, you can go to greatclips.com and click the Check-In button, or you can visit the salon locator page, enter your zip/postal code, and choose a convenient location by clicking on the icon aroundon the map or scrolling through the list. Once you find your preferred salon, click on Check In. Then, tell us your name, how many people will be getting haircuts, and you’ll be added to the waitlist!

After you check in online, you’ll see your estimated wait time. You can sign up for ReadyNext texts to receive a text message when your estimated wait time is 15 minutes or less, so you can head to the salon. Once you arrive, let the stylists know you're there, and they’ll confirm your information and finish your check in.

We understand—things happen! Don't worry if you lose your keys, spill something or get stuck in traffic. We'll keep your name on the list for a short period of time.

Online Check-In will not be available during the first five minutes a salon is scheduled to be open. This gives customers who are physically in the salon when it opens a chance to be checked in and have their names added to the waitlist.

We accept online check-ins up until 30 minutes before closing time. You can still get a haircut at closing time, you just can't check in on greatclips.com or the Great Clips app.

That means that the salon is experiencing very high demand, so Online Check-In is not available. We apologize for the inconvenience, as we can only accept walk-in customers until the wait time decreases.

Canceling your Check-In

If you checked in on greatclips.com, return to your check-in page and click “Cancel check-in.”. If you checked in using the app, go to the home screen and tap “Cancel check-in.”

About ReadyNext®

ReadyNext is a text message that notifies you when your estimated wait time reaches 15 minutes as your cue to head to the salon.

To receive a ReadyNext text, check in online using the Great Clips® app or on greatclips.com. Once you check in online, you will be asked if you want to receive a ReadyNext text. If you consent to receive the text, then once your estimated wait time reaches 15 minutes, you’ll receive a text saying it’s time to head to the salon. We encourage you to still pay close attention to your wait time to avoid missing your spot on the waitlist. While ReadyNext is meant to send a text message as your haircut time nears, it is also possible that you may still have a short wait when you arrive at the salon. When you check in, if the estimated wait time is below 15 minutes, you’ll be directed to head straight to the salon and will not be given the option to opt-in for a text message.

No. Each time you use Online Check-In, you will have the opportunity to opt-in to receive a ReadyNext text.

The estimated wait time is based on the current conditions in the salon. As customers check in and are served, and as the team members change shifts, the estimated wait time adjusts accordingly. Also, if you arrive more than 15 minutes after your appointment, the salon may have taken the next person on the list and your wait time may have had to be adjusted.

Using Online Check-In saves your place in line, and salons will keep customers on the waitlist for a bit of time in case customers run a few minutes late. The salon may remove your name from the waitlist if you arrive after your estimated check-in time. We encourage you to watch your estimated wait time and head to the salon so you arrive before your estimated haircut time.

The Great Clips® app

About the App

The Great Clips® app is available for download for iPhones via the App Store and Android phones via Google Play.

The Great Clips® app saves you time and makes it easy to check in for your next haircut. If you create an account, checking in is even faster! With an account, you can set favorite salons that show on your app home screen, so you can easily see wait times for those salons.

With the app, you can also receive personalized offers, product promotions, and even haircare and hairstyling tips in your notification inbox. To stay up-to-date faster, you can turn on push notifications in the Communication Settings tab in the app.

On most phones, the app will automatically update to the latest version. If that's not happening on your device, simply open the app store and update it manually.

Creating an Account

Download the Great Clips® app, select the Account screen, and tap “Sign Up” and follow the instructions. You can create an account and sign in with Apple, Google, or an email address. Your account works on both the website and our mobile app!

If you create an account, you can set your favorite salons to show on your home screen so you can easily see wait times for those locations. To stay up to date even faster, just sign up for Great Stuff push notifications in the Communication Settings tab in the app.

Logging into your account

Go to the “Sign In” screen and tap “Reset Password.” You’ll receive an email with a link to reset your password. If log in issues persist, delete and reinstall the app. Keep in mind that you can still check in online without being signed in.

At the bottom of the Account screen, tap the “Sign Out” button.

Managing messages and notifications

It may take a few months before you start to receive messages. When you have new messages in the Great Clips® app, you’ll see a red alert on the bell icon in the top-right corner of the app’s home screen.

Log into the Great Clips® app. Go to “Account,” click on “Communication Settings,” and then switch off the toggle. You can also turn off all push notifications from the Great Clips® app by selecting that option in your device settings.

For iOS devices, on the right side of the message, swipe to the left. A red delete button will appear. Tap on the delete button to remove the message from your inbox. For Android devices, hold the message and tap “Delete” when it appears. You can select multiple messages to delete. Note that messages will also automatically be removed from your inbox after a set period of time.

Select the unsubscribe button in the footer of any Great Clips, Inc. email to unsubscribe.

Deleting your account

On the Account screen, select Personal Info, and then tap the “Delete Account” button. This action will delete your Great Clips app account. For information on consumer data rights, check out our Privacy Notice.

Products and Services

Yes, Great Clips salons offer three brands of exclusive haircare and styling products for men, women and kids, including Solutions by Great Clips® and Tea Tree Solutions by Great Clips®. Salons also carry many commercial brands, such as American Crew®, Paul Mitchell® and Sexy Hair®.

All Great Clips salons offer haircuts for the entire family. You can add additional haircare services during your next visit including a shampoo, a blow dry or styling. Great Clips salons also offer touch-up services such as neck, beard and bang trims to keep you looking great between haircuts. Select salons offer perms. Please contact your local salon with any questions on the services they offer.

Great Clips salons are independently owned and the salon owner determines prices. For pricing information, please call the salon or walk in anytime.

Great Clips salons do not provide hair coloring services.

Yes, Great Clips offers haircuts for everyone. Great Clips stylists are skilled at serving kids and adults with sensory or special needs, and salon teams will work with you to make reasonable accommodations for your service.

No. Great Clips salons are focused on giving you a great haircut at whatever time is most convenient for you! You can walk in when you're ready for your haircut, or you can add your name to the waitlist using Online Check-in on greatclips.com or with the Great Clips® app. When you check in online, you can sign up for ReadyNext texts to receive a text message when your wait time reaches 15 minutes.

You can help a child look and feel their best by getting your hair cut at a participating Great Clips salon and then donating your hair to Wigs for Kids. Your stylist who cuts your hair will give you the information needed to make this as easy as possible. By donating your hair, you can give children who need it a real boost in confidence and self-esteem. And, with your donation, your haircut will be free at participating Great Clips salons! Call or visit your local Great Clips to see if they participate in the Wigs for Kids program.

We want all our customers to feel confident and happy leaving the salon, which is why your complete satisfaction on all services and products is fully guaranteed. If you have concerns with the service or products you received, we encourage you to talk to your local Great Clips salon staff.

Discounts

Customers can receive Great Clips coupons through multiple ways, including printed postcards, broadcast television and radio, Facebook and Instagram ads, email, app messages and more. Since Great Clips salons are independently owned and operated, the availability of discounts will vary by location. We urge you to be cautious with any coupons you might see online, because some are not authorized by Great Clips or are only applicable to specific market(s) or salon(s). If you’re not sure if a coupon is valid, we recommend checking with your local salon.

Please check with your local salon directly regarding what coupons and discounts they are currently offering and accepting. Our digital coupons have a unique, single-use coupon code that is 5 or 6 characters long. These coupons include terms and conditions, along with important details like what market(s), city, or salon(s) the coupon is valid in and when it expires. This information is also usually displayed directly below the single-use coupon code. If you have questions, please contact your local salon to verify if they accept the coupon.

The coupon should have an expiration date and an explanation of where the coupon is valid. If you can’t determine this information based on the coupon you have, you can call your local salon to verify if they accept the coupon.

If you’ve seen a coupon in a Facebook or Instagram ad, you can click on the ad and you will be directed to a web page where you’ll be able to see the offer details and get a single-use coupon code. If you see a coupon online that does not have a 5 or 6 character single-use coupon code, it is likely not a valid Great Clips coupon. Each coupon will include a Terms & Conditions section that confirms which locations will accept the coupon and the expiration date of the coupon. If you have questions, please contact your local salon to verify if they accept the coupon.

Great Clips uses single-use coupon codes in addition to barcodes to deliver coupons. If you see a coupon that doesn’t have a barcode or unique, single-use coupon code that is 5 or 6 digits long, it is likely not a valid Great Clips coupon. You can call your local salon to verify if they accept the coupon.

Each location is independently owned and operated by a franchisee who decides which coupons they offer and accept. If you’d like a follow-up, please email [emailprotected] with the salon location and details. We will forward it onto the franchisee so they can get in touch with you regarding your concerns or you can contact your local salon directly.

Franchisees independently decide if they offer discounts for students. You can call your local salon to verify if they offer student discounts.

At Great Clips, seniors ages 65 and older enjoy extra savings on our already low haircut prices—no coupon needed. When you check out, just let your stylist know you qualify and they’ll make sure you get our senior haircut pricing.*

You can purchase gift cards at any Great Clips salon. Gift cards are not currently available for purchase online.
